Reposition Yourself: Moving from Discomfort to Action with Dr. Enjoli Filemu
The field of occupational therapy isn’t immune to perpetuating racism and discrimination, as students and clinicians alike have documented marginalization in their training and in their workplaces. It’s time to realize that as OTs, we are uniquely qualified to assess the implications of both systemic and individual racism within our profession and create programs that are empathy-forward and research-based. Your students, colleagues, and clinicians of color deserve to be heard. Furthermore, they need for their managers and administrators to take intentional action to address marginalization so that they can feel safe in their places of employment and education.
If you’re ready to show up for your colleagues, your students, and your clinicians of color, to make good on your professional oath to equality and inclusion, then register for the kNOwBiaS August Workshop, presented by the wonderful Dr. Enjoli Filemu. It's time for you to M.O.V.E away from your discomfort.
